Soffit, fascia, and wood rot repair

When gutters overflow, the first thing to rot is the board they hang on. We replace the soft wood, wrap it in aluminum or copper so it does not happen again, and hang your gutters back on something solid.

  • Rotted wood replaced
  • Aluminum and copper fascia wrap
  • Soffit and vent repair

The work other gutter companies refer out

Fascia is the board along the edge of your roof that your gutters screw into. Soffit is the underside of the overhang. Between Charleston humidity and years of overflowing gutters, both rot, and rotted fascia cannot hold a gutter.

A lot of gutter companies stop at the gutter and tell you to call a carpenter. We do the wood work in-house: cut out the rot, replace it with new lumber, prime and seal it, and wrap the fascia in aluminum or copper so rain and humidity never reach the wood again.

Rotted soffit is also how squirrels, birds, and bees get into an attic. We close those gaps and replace damaged vents so your attic still breathes.

Questions about soffit, fascia and wood rot

Still wondering about something? Call (843) 998-9522. A real person picks up, 7 days a week.

What causes fascia rot?

Usually water that gets behind or over the gutter: clogged gutters, the wrong slope, a missing drip edge, or old sectional gutters leaking at the joints. Charleston humidity speeds it up.

Can you fix fascia without replacing my gutters?

Yes. We take the gutters down, repair and wrap the wood, and hang the same gutters back up if they are in good shape.

Is aluminum fascia wrap worth it?

For most homes, yes. Wrapped fascia does not need painting and keeps water off the wood, which is what caused the rot in the first place.

Do you work on historic homes?

Yes. We can match existing trim profiles and use copper where it fits the house. Homes in historic districts may need approval before exterior changes.
